Delphi Delphi is an archaeological site and a modern town in Greece on the south-western spur of Mount Parnassus in the valley of Phocis. Set within a most spectacular landscape was the seat of the Delphic oracle, most important oracle in the classical Greek world, and a major site for the worship of the god Apollo. Delphi was for many centuries a cultural and religious centre, a Pan-Hellenic sanctuary and a symbol of unity for the Hellenic world. The Great Excavation of 1891 uncovered spectacular finds; architectural sculpture, statues and minor objects reflecting religious, political and artistic activities, that are on display today at the Archaeological Museum of Delphi.

Mykonos

Mycenae
The
ancient site of Mycenae is the birthplace of the Mycenaean civilization
and one of the most important archeological sites in Greece. Greek
archaeologist K Pittakis first excavated the area in 1841 and
Schliemann in 1874 undertook a complete excavation. Mycenae is a
popular tourist destination less than two hours' drive from Athens. The
site has been well-preserved, and the massive ruins of the cyclopean
walls and the palaces on the acropolis still arouse the admiration of
visitors, particularly when it is remembered that they were built a
thousand years before the monuments of Classical Greece

Delos
In ancient Greek, Delos means clear, brought to light. Indeed light reigns supreme in this small, rocky and barren island from the first moments of dawn until dusk, since neither mountain masses nor silhouettes of trees exist to spoil the perfect reflection. The ancient ruins of the settlement, spread about all over the island, the surviving marble columns, the theatre, the gymnasium. Its imposing houses with courts and atria adorned with mosaics and mural decorations make an impression to all visitors. Since, according to ancient custom, no person must stay overnight at Delos, a boat service from near by Mykonos island takes visitors across.
Cape Sounion - Temple of Poseidon
Cape Sounion is renowned for the ruins of the ancient Greek temple of Poseidon, god of the sea. The ruins are perched on the headland, surrounded on three sides by sea. Designated as one of Greece's National parks and an hour away from Athens, it attracts many visitors looking for a day excursion offering a panoramic view of the surrounding Aegean islands and a magnificent sunset over the Aegean Sea.
Epidaurus, in the Peloponnese, is an area of great cultural heritage and unique beauty. Famed in antiquity for the Sanctuary of Asklepios god of healing, as well as its theatre which is in use today. The theatre is marvelled for its exceptional acoustics, which permit almost perfect intelligibility of unamplified spoken word from scene to all 15,000 spectators, regardless of their seating. The modern Epidaurus is a charming village built on the very spot occupied by ancient city and, along with the theatre and sanctuary is a definite destination for any visitor.
